the Houston Illini Club as we watch the Illini play Baylor in the TEXAS
Bowl! on Wednesday, 12/29 at 5 PM (kick-off)! Wear orange and blue, and join your fellow alums for the fun!
Support the University of Illinois by purchasing your tickets through
Illinois' ticket office at

 Immediately
prior to the Bowl game there will be an "Official" pregame Illini activity at the Reliant Center - adjacent to the Reliant Stadium, which requires a separate RSVP and payment via
http://www.illinoissportstravel.com/. Alternatively, your Texas Bowl ticket provides you pre-game access to the TexFest in the parking lot of the Reliant Stadium, which is a Texas-sized party before the game featuring a live performance by popular Texas country artist Roger Creager on the Bud Light Stage. Regardless of which option you choose be sure to wear orange and blue to help you more easily congregate and socialize with other Illini alumni and fans.

 It is time to celebrate the end of the hottest month of the year by drinking
some wine with your fellow alumni! We will be hosting a wine tasting and
networking party on Thursday, September 23rd at
Cova's Wine Bar at
5555
Washington Ave (phone 713-868-3366). We will start at 5PM, when Cova’s Happy
Hour begins. During Happy Hour, which is over at 7 PM, you can purchase a
3-ticket package for $22 $17 (increased price
includes taxes and gratuities) which allows you two glasses of wine and one
appetizer from their Happy Hour list. If the Happy Hour list is not
appealing you can purchase wine or food instead from their traditional menu.
NOTE: While no RSVP is required, please contact me if you're likely to attend or
with questions, as Cova's is looking for a rough idea of likely attendance (president@houstonilliniclub.com).

Houstonian Hotel.
There will be opportunities for alumni and friends
to network with faculty and departmental
representatives, as well as presentations by
astronaut Scott Altman and
Professor of Materials Science John Rogers, a recent
recipient of the MacArthur “Genius Grant”.
The evening will begin with a networking reception,
followed by dinner and the after-dinner program
focused on
"Leadership, Impact, and Collaboration".
